Empowering people and communities today to create a sustainable tomorrow.
Through Keyera Connects, our social investment program, we partner with organizations and support initiatives that protect and enhance our environment, advance Indigenous Reconciliation, empower and develop people, and build resilient communities.
Our focus areas
We are committed to making a positive, lasting impact in the areas where we operate and live.
-
ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION
We're committed to preserving the natural landscapes we call home. Through our Environmental Innovation pillar, we invest in conserving our ecosystems for future generations, as well as innovative solutions to advance the energy transition and our industry to cleaner, lower-emitting sources of energy. -
INDIGENOUS RECONCILIATION
Reconciliation begins with understanding the truths of history. Through our Indigenous Reconciliation pillar, our approach is to listen with humility as we collaborate with Indigenous Peoples, communities, and organizations to determine areas of focus and impact that build capacity and strength for a better future for all. -
COMMUNITY RESILIENCY
Resilient communities respond and adapt effectively to changes, challenges, adversity, and opportunities. Through our Community Resiliency pillar, we support infrastructure and programs that build resiliency in the communities where we live and work today and sustainably into the future. -
SKILLS GROWTH
Keyera’s Skills Growth pillar is dedicated to developing essential skills needed for success in today’s rapidly evolving energy landscape. We support programs that enhance energy literacy, promote STEM education, and encourage careers in skilled trades— critical areas for building a strong and capable energy workforce for the future. By investing in lifelong learning and skill development, Keyera empowers individuals and communities to thrive in an ever-changing, innovation-driven world.
Strong partnerships fuel lasting change
By fostering meaningful relationships, we gain a deeper understanding of community needs and then leverage our strengths and the expertise of our partners to create lasting impact – both today and for the future.

Keyera Connects Partnership Highlights
-
NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology)
In 2025, 12 students will embark on a first-of-its-kind program, created in partnership with NAIT, to help Indigenous participants build careers in the energy sector. Through this collaborative initiative, students will benefit from specialized classes designed with flexibility and additional supports to set them up for success in achieving industry certifications.
-
Inside Education
Together with Inside Education, Alberta’s largest environmental and natural resource education charity, we are empowering youth living across Alberta. We are proud to support the next generation of energy innovators in learning about, and working towards, a balanced, sustainable future for our environment, economy, industry, and society.
-
Project Forest
Project Forest is a non-profit organization focused on rewilding local landscapes to capture carbon naturally and to return land to its original state. Each new forest improves the air and water, supports animal habitat, and creates natural playgrounds. Through our partnership, we are replanting and rewilding Alberta in an effort to preserve the natural landscapes we call home and conserve our ecosystems for future generations.
-
Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Centre
Skydancer Indigenous Cultural Centre is committed to connecting Indigenous People to their culture and healing the divide between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. We are excited to be working with Skydancer in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation.
-
Outland Youth Employment Program
As the flagship program of Dexterra Community Initiatives, the Outland Youth Employment Program (OYEP) is a network of innovative education, training, and work opportunities for Indigenous Youth that includes an award winning six-week experiential summer program and wrap around support services throughout the year. In partnership with OYEP, we are working to break down the barriers facing Indigenous Youth by supporting them in successfully completing high school and making the transition into stable and exciting careers.
-
Local Food Banks
We believe that our success as a company goes hand in hand with the well-being of the communities where we live and work. Cost of living continues to increase, and food security continues to decline for many of our community members. By supporting local foodbanks throughout the province, we aim to build resilience in our community and ensure no one is left behind.
